How Are Your Muscles Moving?

by Therese M. Rog, NCTMB

Ms. Therese Rog has been practicing her unique dynamic system of massage therapy and bodywork, Massage Movement, for over a decade at her present location in downtown Barrington.  She is nationally certified in massage therapy and bodywork and is a current member of the American Massage Therapy Association.  Ms. Rog has developed Massage Movement as a veritable form of massage therapy/bodywork.

Massage Movement utilizes the body's innate ability to sense so that one is in the receptive mode. It makes relaxation and the release of built-up tensions readily attainable so that the real work can be accomplished.

Once the client is in the receptive mode, we are through the door, working the muscles, which have lent themselves easily, and moving them in the direction nature intended so that postural holds and the nagging sensations that accompany them are released.  In this way, Massage Movement goes beyond trying to figure out what technique in what case and instead focuses on the individual's bodily relationships, especially between muscle and bone.

Would you like to know what Massage Movement can do for you? Give your body a golden opportunity by trying three successive sessions and you will walk away with an entirely different, new, fun perspective that is so much more satisfying--and you haven't done any work except show up and absorb with your open mind.  Only it is your body which feels freer, lighter, more peaceful, less stressed or tense, more joyful, in its ever-increasing relief of, and management of, aches and pains.

Clients often tell me that they have referred people whom they know would greatly benefit from receiving the Massage Movement therapy.  People with chronic muscular pain--even those considering surgery.  The client has been obviously helped and wants to share his/her experience.

Here is a sampling of what satisfied clients have expressed concerning their experience:

• "I originally started seeing Therese for help with chronic neck and upper back discomfort.  Recently, I have been troubled with increasing pain from an arthritic joint in the base of my thumb.  I finally thought I would mention it to Therese, never dreaming of the effect her massage would have for that problem.  WOW!  Now instead of contemplating surgery to fuse the joint, I enjoy long periods that are pain free."

• "I'm a purpose driven person.  Through her treatment, Therese helped me achieve a goal--my body feels more flexible and responsive to exercise than it has in years!  Therese eases the muscles into re-alignment and re-energizes them.  Her methods are unique and not found in any other form."
